We Are Soul Containers

Brewed on May 12th, 2008 by Troy Meyer

I find it amazing how our souls are inherently good (for the most part I think), but add a brain and 160 pounds of muscle and tissue to the mix and we corrupt this world we have been given.

Is there a way to live from our souls outward rather than from our body inward?

I have read much from spiritual experts who say there is a vast universe within us that we can learn to tap into and utilize in our day-to-day journeys. Most of them inform us of this and guide us through the process of learning how to use this resource to satisfy our carnal desires; a big house, fast cars, a beautiful wife, a beautiful family.

I think that generally these people are on to something, they have a lot of knowledge and useful advice, but the focus of these books/videos/etc. is backwards

Boundary Stretching vs. Staying Grounded

Brewed on March 10th, 2008 by Troy Meyer

I pose a question: at what point are we living materialistically rather than within our means?

I had a conversation with my business partner this evening regarding the rewards offering for a potential new client on our rewards program. We have created and manage a program similar to an Airmiles structure where employers reward their employees with points that they can use toward whatever reward strikes their fancy in lieu of the typical gift certificate, movie pass or 5-reward offering that most businesses use to incent their employees.

Our potential new client is a large law firm in the area who is looking at rewarding their employees with $5000+ watches, jewelry and other items. These rewards are more for their secretaries than their lawyers and the person at the firm who is working with us to get this program up and running brought an interesting point forward in a conversation with my partner. She said that the reward offerings are not quite of the calibre that their employees are used to receiving. It is a great offering for our clients with retail employees but not quite what a top executive or law firm employee would be used to receiving. (more…)
